What determines if a person must go to Grand Jury?

About 6 months ago my boyfriend was arrested for statutory rape with 13 year old girl. He's 18 and has no other charges against him. The sex was completely willing, but her parents still had a rape kit done on her. They couldn't prove that it was him because he wore a condom and I'm not sure if they ever found liable evidence that she had even recently had sex. He met with her mother and apologized, and she agreed to drop all the charges and defend him in court. He is out on bond right now and has been for several months; however, his bonding agent is going to call in a few weeks to see if he has to go to court. My mom, who really doesn't like him and could just be making this up, says that he has to go to Grand Jury and is facing 5 years. And if there's any constellation to this, we live in a very small town in Mississippi, and most laws are barely even enforced. I don't have very much knowledge about court and laws so if anyone could help explain this a little better to me and tell me what will more than likely happen based on past experiences or just basic understanding of these situations, PLEASE let me know!!! Any answers at all will be extremel appreciated! :)

Please help me understand this?

Personal liability is a serious issue in purchasing and supply management. Provide details from the text or your personal experience where a supply officer or project manager has been held personally liable for conditions of a contract. Comment on how you will proceed in the future to avoid any personal liability for contracts if at all possible.

Where do I file a police report for theft that happened on an interstate bus trip?

Someone stole the cash out of my carry-on bag on a Greyhound bus trip from L.A. to D.C. I did not find out that my money was gone until I reached my destination, and the theft might have taken place at any point along the route. I understand that normally, police reports are filed in the jurisdiction where the crime took place, but I have no idea where to start in this case. I know there's not a chance I'll ever see the money again, that I should have bought traveler's checks, and that the bus company is not liable for what happened, but this will help me get a sense of closure. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

What are some of the most ridiculous baby names you've heard?

Here is one that was in my moms of multiples club...I kid you not. They were two girls named..Gin and Tonic (Tonic was called Tawny, thank god!)

Am I liable for hire company's losses resulting from police seizure of the van I rented from them?

No they can't because that clause covers circumstances in which the van could be seized because of your actions - drunk driving, stuff like that. The hire company is responsible for insuring the van and if it was seized because it was not insured then they get to suffer. You may sue them for any losses you incurred because of their breach of contract with you.

Anyone know what happened to the Truth in Advertising laws?

Such laws exist. The labeling is seemingly deceptive. A complain would have been made to managment first, I would think to be fair. The individual customer would read the label and see the ingredients and if there were damages might recoupe a loss such as a trip to a hospital. This scenario seems unlikely. Another example of how vague these laws are is as follows. The spokesperson for a hair dye company need use the product on one strand of hair to then come on television and act as if the entire head was dyed with the product. A certain eye drop company has repeatedly been sued and fined, and, just pays the fine, reformulates the product and resells it. So, the laws are on the books. Probably most people have figured out that what makes restaurant food taste so good is a high amount of salt used in the preparation. How you wish to proceed is a personal matter. Probably, the best thing is to join an ongoing program of lobbying to have restaurants publish the calorie count and other ingredients, such as sodium and sugars in their products. Going against a major corporation without it being a class action is not worth it, but a phone call to corporate is worth it.

What video can I watch to learn all of Slopes information?
