Is baby number two liable to be larger than the firstborn?

it is quite common for subsequent babies to be larger and yet my sisters two daughters were both the same weight when born,, my 2nd child weighed less than the 1st but was 3 weeks early and my 3rd child was the same weight as my 1st born
