Capital gains tax on assets acquired through a divorce settlement...?

Just want to know if i will need to pay CGT on assets acquired through a divorce settlement. I am planning to hold on to those assets and won't be selling them anytime soon so will i still be liable for CGT when assets will be trasfered from my former spouse to me? Thank you.
