I want to travel! How can I do this ASAP?

I live in Nairobi,Kenya and I am 21 years old. I already have a Diploma and am half way to getting my Degree (in Leadership& Management) but I am on a Uni break and I am trying to find away to travel but I am being blocked,right left and center,I tired getting a US and Canadian visa but they said since I am not Married have no kids no assets (like i could at my age!)I am liable to not coming back (but the irony is that I DO WANT TO COME BACK) i just want to go out there explore a bit and then come back home!So I am looking for a way to do this. A job? Volunteer work? Anything. so any suggestions, good people.
